- This photo (by friend and fellow painter Brooks Hickerson) says quite a bit about me. I don't always take my bike to paint but I try. I love being outdoors and I love observing, whether or not I've got a paintbrush in hand. I'm not new to painting but I'm new to plein air painting (painting on location, outdoors).

I love red barns. Liz's grandpa was a big fan too. He always stopped and took pictures. When I travel now I almost always stop when I see one. Sometimes I take a picture, sometimes I just stare. When I saw this painting I just stared. Thanks
I think I commented on this before. I love old barns in the country.
